configuration, username and password details needed to set up your computer.
Details are confidential to you and must be kept safe. For security reasons,
usernames and passwords will only be posted to your known address and will
not be given over the phone.

Amaryllis Design Agency Ltd. provides ongoing, free support to help customers make the most of the Internet. For non-urgent requests, E-mail is the preferred route. See our Contacts page for details. Support is available during normal office hours.
Typical support queries include: setting up email, dealing with viruses, managing spam, connecting to the Internet, networking & hardware setup, and a variety of E-commerce related issues.
You can use a program such as Outlook Express or Eudora to send and receive mail on your computer. The software needs configuring with your mailbox details, plus the incoming and outgoing mail server details.
Details of the set-up needed for your E-mail connection are provided in your welcome pack. Keep these details safe in case you need to re-install them.
You may also have Webmail access, allowing you to check your mail via a web browser from anywhere in the world. Details are supplied with your welcome pack.
If you have problems sending your outgoing (SMTP) mail through your choice of ISP, ask us for advice.
Up to date anti virus software is critical - we recommend Avast! Anti Virus as a worthwhile defence.
A number of Bayesian anti spam filters are used to detect spam messages. These can then be deleted from the server or flagged and delivered so you can check through them for 'false positives'. This is set up in your User Control Panel.

Actinic Catalog software is directly compatible with a number of popular payment gateways, so you can take credit card payments over the Internet. Amaryllis Design Agency Ltd. does not provide financial advice but can suggest a number of credit card processing companies that are compatible with Actinic Catalog, which accepts the widest number of UK CC payment gateways.
If you are an established credit card (CC) merchant, you may need to amend your agreement to permit Internet ordering, or obtain a separate Internet Merchant ID. Don't forget that Actinic also allows other payment options including cash/ cheque with order, or CC details to be phoned through separately.

It is always worth asking a number of credit card processors for a quotation. Note erspecially that some agreements do not allow for immediate payment (you may not receive funds for 2-4 weeks), or a percentage may be held back for a longer period, to allow for chargebacks or CC fraud to surface. Sometimes you may even have to pay a deposit as security. Check the terms carefully.
Some CC processors also provide a PC interface online "swipe machine" that lets you enter CC numbers manually into a simple web page, for processing into your account.

Since CC processing is such an important part of every e-business, customers are well advised to research this aspect carefully and not leave it until the last minute, as it may take some time to set up an account.
